We are looking for an experienced Steel Profile Cutter / Flame Cutting Operator to join our manufacturing team on night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience operating flame or gas cutting equipment within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating a gas cutting machine to accurately cut steel profiles and sheet metal to engineering drawings and production specifications. You will also support the wider fabrication team with general workshop duties while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate flame/gas cutting machines to produce accurate steel profiles and components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and work orders.
  • Measure, mark out and prepare materials for cutting.
  • Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Carry out grinding, fettling and other fabrication duties where required.
  • Support welding and assembly operations as needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
  • Work closely with colleagues to achieve production targets and delivery deadlines.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience operating flame cutting, gas cutting or steel profile cutting machinery.
  • Experience within a fabrication, engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal and structural steel fabrication processes.
  • Experience using hand tools, grinders and fabrication equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • A good understanding of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What's on Offer

£16.71 per hour, with flexibility depending on experience. Night shift working Monday to Thursday, 4:00pm – 4:00am. Three-day weekend every week. Free on-site parking. Supportive team environment with opportunities to develop your skills.
