The Opportunity: Reacta Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Lab Equipment Support Officer to join the Quality Control team. The main purpose and responsibilities of the role are to support laboratory activities including the purchase, calibration, servicing, and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.

Key Accountabilities

  • To support the selection and procurement of new laboratory equipment.
  • To schedule and/or perform the calibration, servicing, and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.
  • To provide training on laboratory equipment and associated techniques.
  • To troubleshoot issues with the laboratory equipment.
  • To perform investigations in the event of a calibration failure or equipment-related non-compliance.
  • To ensure ongoing compliance to the Pharmaceutical Quality Management System (PQMS).
  • To draft or update laboratory documentation and complete PQMS related activities and actions.
  • To ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with company timescales and to satisfy GMP requirements.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential Skills: To be successful in this role, applicants need to have the following essential skills and experience:

  • Experience within a pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
  • A thorough understanding of current GMP regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • IT competent (e.g., Microsoft office).
  • Excellent organisational skills, methodical and the ability to work under their own initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships internally and externally to the business.
  • Great problem-solving skills.
  • BSc in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
