Our client is seeking a hardworking, conscientious, and physically fit Van Driver to join their team on a temp to perm basis. Candidates must be willing to undertake warehouse duties.
Temp rate: Β£12.21 ph, 12 week temp to perm - PAYE, weekly pay via React Recruitment then moving to monthly pay when permanent
Perm salary: Β£28,572 pa - starting salary
Hours: 7.30 am to 4.30 pm less one hour's unpaid break whilst temping
Location: depot based in Gravesend
Routes: Kent, London some drops in Surrey, Sussex
Van Driver Role: To deliver and collect products from customer sites (factories and building sites) in Kent, London etc. The Van Driver should be conscientious and be able to provide efficient delivery of products in line with agreed service levels and provide a high level of customer service.
Van Driver responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Always deliver excellent customer service - smart appearance, good verbal communication.
- Accurately checking and sorting the day's deliveries.
- Safely and legally loading and unloading the company delivery vehicles.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is always clean and presentable (internally & externally).
- Daily checks are completed in line with company policy.
- Always maintaining a reasonable level of fuel and fluids in the vehicle.
- Ensuring that all relevant paperwork is completed on a daily basis.
- Ensuring that routes are planned in the most appropriate and efficient way.
- Route and delivery sheets accurately uploaded onto company platform in a timely manner.
- Liaising with customers on their premises as necessary.
- Debrief the team on a daily basis covering customer requests, delivery performance and customer feedback.
- Complete other daily warehouse duties and reasonable requests from a manager, supervisor, or colleague.
- Participate in regular warehouse team meetings.
- Work as a key part of the team.
- Contributing to the maintenance of Health & Safety in the workplace.
- Promoting good housekeeping for an efficient working environment.
- Work in line with the company vehicle handbook to comply with FOR's.
