Location: Dover

Role: Full time - 40hrs per week Monday – Friday

Salary: IRO £42,000K pa

Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician, Plant Fitter, HGV Technician or Mobile Plant Engineer looking for your next challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of heavy plant, HGVs and specialist port equipment within one of the UK’s most unique engineering environments. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing HGVs, mobile and harbour cranes, forklift trucks, telehandlers, vehicles and other mobile plant, while also supporting the maintenance of critical port infrastructure. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys variety and problem-solving.

This is a physically demanding role working in a busy engineering environment, both indoors and outdoors. Flexibility is essential, including overtime, emergency call-outs and participation in a standby or 24/7 rota following training.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ post-apprenticeship engineering experience.
  • Experience maintaining HGVs, heavy plant, mobile plant or hydraulic equipment.
  • Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience producing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management or ERP systems.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
