React Engineering is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Finance Co‑ordinator to play a key role in the day‑to‑day operation of the finance function. Working closely with the Finance Lead, this role plays an important part in processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring core finance processes operate effectively across the business.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on operational role focused on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the business. The role supports a range of core finance activities including purchase ledger, expenses, sales invoicing and payroll coordination, helping to ensure all transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with company procedures and QMS requirements. A high level of attention to detail and a disciplined approach are essential to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting effective financial controls. Alongside day‑to‑day responsibilities, the successful candidate will support the Finance Lead during month‑end and reporting cycles, gaining exposure to wider finance activities and opportunities for professional development within the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
    • Process purchase invoices and ensure appropriate approvals in line with QMS control points
    • Process purchase orders in line with company procedures
    • Manage supplier queries and reconcile supplier statements
    • Support preparation of supplier payment runs in line with agreed terms
    • Process and reconcile company credit card and petty cash transactions
    • Process employee expense claims in line with company policy
    • Raise and issue sales invoices
    • Support credit control activities, including monitoring aged debt and following up on overdue invoices
    • Liaise with internal teams and customers to resolve invoice queries and disputes
    • Support the maintenance of project financial records
    • Support adherence to financial controls and maintain clear audit trails
  • Month‑End & Financial Support
    • Support preparation of month‑end schedules (including prepayments and accruals)
    • Assist with journals and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Support management reporting, including variance analysis against budget
  • Payroll & Employee Costs
    • Support the monthly payroll process, including review and validation of payroll information
    • Review payroll reports and perform payroll checks to ensure accuracy prior to payment
    • Maintain payroll‑related records, schedules and reconciliations
    • Process payroll, pension and other employee‑related payments in line with agreed timescales
    • Support month‑end activities relating to payroll and employee costs
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Provide internal reporting and respond to requests for financial information
    • Use Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams and Excel, to support daily operations
    • Support finance‑related system updates, including project and time‑recording systems
    • Provide financial or time‑based information to customers as required
    • Maintain accuracy and integrity across finance systems
    • Support internal controls, audits and compliance
    • Identify and highlight opportunities to improve processes and controls where appropriate
    • Maintain clear process documentation in line with QMS requirements

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in a similar finance role is desirable
  • Studying towards, or qualified in, AAT (Level 3+) or equivalent is desirable
  • Experience of accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks or similar) would be advantageous
  • Confidence across purchase ledger, sales ledger and reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work
  • Ability to manage routine processes accurately and consistently
  • Comfortable working in a structured, process‑driven environment where accuracy and consistency are key
  • A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a finance role

Working Arrangements

This is a full‑time role (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday. React supports flexible working arrangements to balance the needs of employees and the business.

Training
