A well-established and highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its Residential Conveyancing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised individual to support an experienced fee earner handling a varied caseload of residential sale and purchase matters. The firm prides itself on delivering a personal, high-quality service to clients and is committed to maintaining a supportive working environment where quality always comes before quantity.

Unlike many volume conveyancing firms, this practice focuses on providing exceptional client care and attention to detail. With an impressive staff retention rate and a friendly, collaborative culture, the firm offers a stable and rewarding long-term career opportunity.

The Role

The successful conveyancing legal assistant will play a key role in supporting residential conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion, ensuring clients receive a professional and efficient service throughout. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting a fee earner with all aspects of residential conveyancing transactions
  • Assisting with the management of sale and purchase files from instruction to completion
  • Preparing completion statements and dealing with pre-completion requirements
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors
  • Managing correspondence, documentation and file progression
  • Monitoring deadlines and helping ensure matters proceed smoothly and efficiently
  • Delivering a professional, friendly and reassuring experience for clients

Candidate Requirements

The firm is looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a conveyancing legal support role
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • The ability to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines
  • A proactive, reliable and team-focused approach

What's on Offer?

  • The opportunity to join a respected and established law firm
  • A supportive team environment with excellent staff retention
  • A quality-focused caseload rather than a high-volume conveyancing operation
  • Long-term career development opportunities
  • The chance to work closely with experienced professionals and build valuable expertise within residential property law

This role would suit a Conveyancing Legal Assistant who enjoys building relationships with clients, takes pride in delivering high standards of service, and is looking to join a firm where their contribution is genuinely valued.
