Wonderful, West End firm is recruiting a new solicitor into its property finance team due to an overflow of new work. The firm is well known for its work in commercial and residential property law, with a cross-border element and the nature of the REF Solicitor role reflects that.

The firm's secured lending team acts on behalf of onshore and offshore corporate and individual borrowers, commercial and residential property portfolio investors, with typical transactions involving cross-collateralisation, warranties, loan and security assignments and inter-creditor deeds among others. The team is ably supported by the banking team which advises banks, PE and family offices in relation to loans, bridging loans, development finance, revolving credit and private and family mortgages among others.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing documentation, including term sheets and facility agreements
  • Drafting debentures, charges over shares and other security documentation
  • Dealing with senior and junior debt and security arrangements and other forms of intercreditor arrangements
  • Reviewing loans
  • Negotiating the terms of construction documents e.g. collateral warranties
  • Title due diligence and risk analysis
  • Corporate due diligence

  • REF solicitors with 2-5 years' PQE (guideline)
  • Solicitors with current REF experience – general commercial and/or residential property will not be considered.
  • Solicitors with a stable London based career history
  • Solicitors with cross border experience (not essential)
