A leading international law firm is seeking a Solicitor/Associate to join its highly regarded Clinical Risk team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a nationally recognised practice handling complex and high-value defendant clinical negligence work for a broad client base.
You will join one of the largest and most experienced clinical risk teams in the UK, acting on behalf of a diverse portfolio of clients including healthcare bodies, indemnity organisations, insurers and independent providers. The team is known for managing challenging, high-profile matters while maintaining a pragmatic, commercially focused approach.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a varied caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and other legal documentation
- Conducting negotiations, mediations and settlement discussions
- Preparing cases for trial and ensuring compliance with court timetables
- Acting as a primary contact for clients, delivering clear and commercially focused advice
- Contributing to business development, client relationship management and thought leadership
- Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues where appropriate
- Qualified Solicitor or Associate with 1 PQE+
- Experience in clinical negligence, personal injury, civil litigation, or insurance law
- Familiarity with healthcare-related claims or insurer-led litigation is advantageous but not essential
- Strong organisational and technical skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters effectively
- A commercial mindset and a client-focused approach
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with an interest in mentoring others
