We’re looking for a motivated HR Generalist to join our People team and grow into a role with increasing ownership of HR processes and employee experience across the UK, US, and Portugal.
This high‑impact position offers significant autonomy and a steep growth curve. You’ll immerse yourself in the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding—while building, refining, and scaling HR operations that fuel our culture and support our fast-growing, values-driven global team.
As a trusted advisor to both employees and managers, you’ll be at the heart of our People function—delivering smart, people-first HR support, embedding our values into everyday moments, and driving a consistent and high-performing workplace culture across all regions.
Responsibilities
- Employee Lifecycle & Operations
- Own and manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring a consistent, positive, and high-quality experience that reflects our culture and supports employee success at every stage.
- Maintain and update the HRIS (HiBob) and employee records accurately and confidentially.
- Administer HR documentation, including contract addendums, letters, and policy updates.
- Support payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, salary changes, leaves, etc.).
- Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee queries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Partner with our EOR in Portugal and PEO in the US to uphold international employment compliance.
- Support employee relations matters such as grievances, investigations, and performance issues.
- Assist with performance issues, investigations, grievances, and compliance audits.
- Culture & Engagement
- Champion employee gifting, recognition, and culture-building initiatives—remotely and in person.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment where employees feel valued and heard.
- Actively contribute to culture-building initiatives that build connection, belonging, and positive team dynamics—both in-person and remotely.
- Regularly gather employee feedback and support the implementation of actions that enhance culture and engagement.
- Performance Management & Reviews
- Support the VP Legal & People in running the performance review process, with the opportunity to take increasing ownership over time, ensuring it drives meaningful development conversations, supports employee growth, and informs talent decisions such as promotions, progression, and succession planning.
- Support managers in setting objectives, providing feedback, and holding effective review conversations.
- Business Partnering
- Partner with managers and team leads to understand their team’s needs and provide proactive people support.
- Coach and guide leaders on employee matters, performance challenges, engagement, and team development.
- Act as a trusted advisor, building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- Provide insight and recommendations based on HR data, employee feedback, and industry best practices.
- Office Management
- Support the smooth running of our offices and occasional team events.
- Plan on-site events, team activities, and celebrations.
- Benefits & Reward
- Coordinate the administration of employee benefits and respond to queries.
- Assist with annual benefit reviews and support communication of any changes.
- HR Projects & Reporting
- Contribute to HR projects, such as process improvements, policy reviews, or culture initiatives.
- Generate HR reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
About You
- 2–4 years’ experience in HR Generalist, People Ops, or similar role, ideally in a scaling or international environment.
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law; familiarity with US and Portuguese practices is a plus.
- Comfortable supporting performance processes and guiding people managers.
- Detail-oriented, highly confidential, excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with HRIS tools (e.g., HiBob).
- Desirable: CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience—but not essential.
