Catering Assistant – The Woodside Primary Academy

Basic preparation of food (fresh vegetables, salads, fresh fruit); simple cooking duties; serving meals; preparing and serving teatime club provision with a hot snack; general kitchen and dining room duties (washing up, moving tables and chairs, sweeping, mopping); cleaning the kitchen and its surrounds.

Must be aware of customer service needs.

Under direction of the kitchen manager to ensure food is prepared and served safely and to comply with all relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food as directed by the kitchen manager.
  • Serve meals to customers and students.
  • Prepare and serve the teatime club provision.
  • Perform general kitchen and dining room duties (washing, moving furniture, sweeping, mopping).
  • Assist in cleaning the kitchen and surrounding areas.
  • Maintain awareness of customer service needs.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and relevant legislation.
  • Contract details

Permanent, 26 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 11:30am‑5pm, Friday 10am‑2pm). 39 weeks per year (term time plus five INSET days).

Experience in a catering or related environment is desirable.
