The Role - Rota: 4-on, 4-off (2 Days, 2 Nights)
With some of our long-standing team members heading into a well-deserved retirement this summer, we are hiring Mechanical and Electrical Engineers for our Print Site in Oldham. Maintain and optimise high-speed print production at Reach PLC. This is a hands-on Mechanical or Electrical role focused on equipment reliability and operational uptime.
Core Responsibilities
- Reactive & Breakdown Maintenance: Rapid response to mechanical failures to minimise downtime.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Execute structured maintenance schedules to ensure long-term machine health.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify technical bottlenecks and develop SOPs to enhance equipment performance.
- Operational Support: Partner with production operators on low-level engineering tasks and safety compliance.
- Documentation: Track all tasks and asset history via our CMMS system.
Technical Requirements
- Qualifications: Level 3 (NVQ) in a Mechanical OR Electrical Engineering discipline or a time-served apprenticeship.
- Experience: Proven background in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Technical Skills: Expert in mechanical/Electrical fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and structured problem-solving.
- IT Literacy: Proficient in CMMS, MS Word, and Excel for reporting and task management.
Personal Attributes
- Flexibility: Committed to a 2/2/4 shift pattern (Days and Nights).
- Pressure Management: Ability to multitask and prioritise during critical breakdown periods.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for coordinating with contractors and management.
