- Working flexibly on a shift rota, including weekend and night shifts, to maintain continuous newsroom coverage.
- Providing guidance and expertise to team members on complex filming and editing technicalities.
Who are we looking for?
- Technical Videography Expertise: Highly skilled in shooting original, high-quality footage on a wide variety of DSLR cameras, both as a solo operator in the field and ideally also in a multi-camera studio setup.
- Journalism background: An NCTJ or BJTC qualification, a proven track record in a busy newsroom environment, with demonstrable experience shooting social video content and a thorough practical understanding of media law are essential.
- Proactive and self-motivated mindset: Always ready to be out in the field filming, producing everything from red carpets to vox-pops, both in front of and behind the camera.
- Editing Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
- Communication & Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of working collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional environment.
- Organisation & Adaptability: Exceptional time management skills, adaptability to evolving technology, and a focus on delivering against key audio-video KPIs.
