Fixed term contract for 10 months starting ASAP, based from Glasgow Hub.

About the role:

  • Produce engaging digital news content and live coverage of breaking news.
  • Source, write and publish exclusive off‑diary stories.
  • Build contacts within industry and underserved communities.
  • Conduct interviews, take photographs and film footage while reporting on the ground.
  • Work varied shifts on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends, requiring flexibility.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Passionate journalist with an NCTJ or equivalent qualification (or time‑served experience).
  • Excellent knowledge of media law.
  • First‑class writer with strong storytelling techniques.
  • Proven experience sourcing, writing and publishing digital news content.
  • Expert knowledge of Glasgow and the ability to tell stories relevant to a diverse audience.
  • Superb social media skills and ability to use platforms to engage audiences.
