Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality and performance is achieved consistently to the set standard.
  • Liaise with the No2, Supervisor, MTL, GTL or Pressroom Manager if required ensuring that they are informed of production output, quality and performance issues.
  • Address and resolve production problems/failures due to mechanical, operator or material faults.
  • Ensure that all products meet company/customer standards and specifications, communicating to all relevant personnel when product is substandard.
  • Ensure efficient workflow to the production schedule is achieved, with no delays to the customer.
  • Ensure all pre and post run checks are conducted.
  • Assist with clean ups and general housekeeping duties.
  • Complete administration and reporting associated with production.
  • Any other additional duties as requested by the No 2 Operator, Supervisor, MTL, GTL or Pressroom manager.
  • Ensure company obligations within health and safety and environmental law and group/site policy is maintained at all times.
  • Set rollers with supervision of a competently trained individual.
  • Operation of Wifag Reel stands unsupervised inclusive of maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to fulfil strip station duties unsupervised.
  • Stand in for No2 printer as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in Press Operations.
  • An NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship in press operations is desirable but not essential.
  • FLT Trained with Grab truck qualification desirable.
  • An understanding of manufacturing best practice and lean principles and tools – Desirable.
