Please note that this position operates on a night shift schedule, following a 4 on, 4 off rota. Are you a skilled print professional looking to take the next step in a high-speed, technical environment? We are seeking a proactive and quality-driven No.2 Printer to join our production team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the hands‑on management of the press, ensuring our output is consistent, high-performing, and delivered on time. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their technical expertise and is ready to step up into leadership when the opportunity arises.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management: Take ownership of the printing process to ensure quality and performance consistently hit our established standards.
- Workflow Optimisation: Drive an efficient workflow to meet the production schedule, ensuring our customers receive their products without delay.
- Technical Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production challenges, whether they stem from mechanical issues, material faults, or operator errors.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet strict company and customer specifications, proactively communicating with the team if standards are not being met.
- Operational Readiness: Execute thorough pre- and post‑run checks and manage the administration and reporting required for every shift.
- Communication: Keep the Pressroom Manager and Supervisors informed on output and performance. You will also be expected to step in for the Supervisor or MTL when required.
- Site Excellence: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in Press Operations to No2 level
- An NVQ Level 2 in press operations is desirable but not essential
- Drive and commitment with an ability to work shifts
- Team player with the ability to lead a team
- A good awareness of HSE standards and regulations.
- Be attentive to detail and focused on quality
- An understanding of manufacturing best practice and lean principles and tools – Desirable
