We are looking for a Social Video Producer to help lead social video coverage for the Daily Record, owning end-to-end creation, optimisation and distribution of high-impact, social-first video content. You will source, shoot and edit compelling original and UGC footage, adapt longer-form content for social, record engaging voiceovers, and ensure every video is optimised for maximum engagement using social analytics to inform strategy. This role is home and hub based linked to our Glasgow Hub. We are therefore open to candidates based in and around Glasgow. You will be covering a Sunday - Saturday rota between 6am - 11pm, so flexibility is key.
As a Social Video Producer for the Daily Record, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality, shareable video content that resonates with our audience across various social platforms. You'll have a keen eye for news, a deep understanding of social media trends, and the ability to turn stories into compelling visual narratives. You’ll be confident in analysing your own work through data, understanding what audiences are responding to, and identifying what our brands can do to reach new people with brilliant content. In this role, you’ll work with editors every day to identify the stories we should be telling on video, focusing on developing our brands in new locations, as well as identifying new topics our titles should be reporting on across all platforms.
We are looking for candidates who are great at creating brilliant video for social media channels, preferably for news organisations. You will be comfortable appearing in front of the camera as well as editing and producing. You will have the skills required to operate the new video studio at our Glasgow office. You will have an in-depth knowledge of social media platforms and their algorithms, and be comfortable with experimenting with new tools (including AI). An NCTJ qualification and/or understanding of media law is essential.
