Job Description
We are looking for a Content Editor to work with the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) across our West Midlands brands and Live Network. The role involves ensuring content meets contractual obligations and BBC standards, supporting LDRs in creating engaging content, and managing content publication within the LDRS portal according to workflows and standards. The candidate will also mentor LDRs, ensuring content is legally sound and adheres to IPSO Code, and support the sharing of relevant stories across Reach brands.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an experienced journalist with NCTJ or equivalent senior qualification, with strong knowledge of media law and IPSO editors’ code. Experience in public affairs or senior reporting, excellent news judgment, and team motivation skills are essential. People management experience, digital publishing skills, SEO knowledge, and analytical skills are also required. The role generally follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with some flexibility for high-profile events.
