We have been named in Australia’s “Top 5” Best Workplaces two years in a row, as well as being recognised as a Best Workplace for Women.

This Staff Quality Analyst role sits across multiple squads within the Subscriptions & Branding – Modernisation tribe at REA Group, delivering a next-generation platform that spans several domain boundaries. The Modernisation tribe drives transformational projects within the Customer group, re-platforming legacy systems and addressing significant customer pain points.

The Quality Engineering function plays a critical role in ensuring that our data pipelines, integrations, APIs, and user-facing experiences operate seamlessly, meet high quality standards, and comply with organisational and regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Head of Engineering.

As a Staff Quality Analyst, you will own and drive the end-to-end testing strategy for a complex platform involving multiple data pipelines and cross-domain integrations. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to design robust test approaches for both back-end and front-end systems, ensuring functional correctness, data integrity, performance, security, and user experience quality. This role combines deep technical QA expertise, cross-team collaboration, and delivery leadership. You will proactively influence the design and implementation with a quality-first mindset, and guide squads in best practices that ensure sustainable, repeatable quality outcomes.

Key Outcomes:
  • Deliver a comprehensive testing strategy covering all aspects of the platform’s data pipeline and functional layers.
  • Ensure required quality gates are met before release across multiple squads.
  • Provide early and continuous quality feedback to engineering and product teams.
  • Drive automation and quality tooling adoption to improve test coverage and reduce cycle time.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate quality risks across the program.

Who we’re looking for:

You have 10–15 years of experience as a Quality Analyst or in similar QA leadership roles, with proven expertise testing complex systems that span both backend services and frontend experiences. You bring strong analytical skills to dissect intricate data pipelines and domain integrations, and have a solid background in test automation, performance testing, and quality governance. You thrive in cross-team collaboration and can navigate multiple priorities while maintaining focus on delivering quality outcomes. You are adept at engaging stakeholders at all levels, influencing engineering solutions to be testable and sustainable, and leading quality practices that result in resilient, reliable releases. Your mindset is proactive and risk-aware, and you are committed to building quality into every stage of delivery.

The physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about. This is a place to learn and grow.

Benefits:
  • A hybrid and flexible approach to working.
  • Flexible leave options including birthday leave and the option to purchase additional leave.
  • Flexible parental leave offering for primary and secondary carers.
  • Our Because We Care program offers employees volunteering leave, community grants, matched payroll giving, and our Community CafĂ© donates 100% of revenue to charity.
  • Hackdays so you can bring your big ideas to life.

We are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe teams with diverse ideas and experiences are more creative, more effective, and fuel disruptive thinking. If you’ve got the skills, dedication, and enthusiasm to learn but don’t necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch.
