An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Services Manager to join a highly regarded commercial real estate organisation with a premium Central London portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the technical management of a diverse property portfolio, ensuring the highest standards of engineering, compliance and operational performance are achieved across a range of landmark commercial assets.
Working closely with property management, operational and development teams, you will provide expert technical guidance, oversee major M&E projects and contracts, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of some of London's most prestigious buildings.
The Role
As Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the technical performance of a commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring building systems operate efficiently, safely and in line with industry best practice. You will oversee technical projects, manage specialist contractors and consultants, drive operational improvements and provide expert engineering advice across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and engineering support across a portfolio of commercial properties.
- Manage the delivery of repair, replacement and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
- Oversee the performance of M&E service providers, ensuring quality, compliance, value and service standards are achieved.
- Monitor technical risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Support procurement activities and contract management processes.
- Produce technical reports and performance updates for senior stakeholders.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and identify opportunities to improve building performance.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, smart building solutions and operational innovations.
- Collaborate with development and project teams to ensure technical input is incorporated into new developments and refurbishments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:
- A minimum of five years' experience within a Technical FM, Facilities Management or Technical Services role within commercial real estate.
- A recognised technical qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Strong experience managing M&E contracts and technical service providers.
- Proven experience delivering repair, maintenance and capital projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness, budgeting and cost management experience.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent organisational skills.
