Our client, a well‑established engineering and manufacturing business based in Evesham, is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their Purchasing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing, procurement, logistics or supply chain experience who is looking to develop their career within a busy and supportive manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Purchasing team, you will play an important role in ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services, maintaining supplier relationships and supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the purchasing function.

Key Responsibilities of a Purchasing Assistant

  • Raise and process purchase orders for both direct and indirect goods, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Manage indirect procurement, including office supplies, PPE, ICT equipment, software licences and general consumables.
  • Monitor supplier performance by chasing order acknowledgements, tracking deliveries and resolving routine supplier queries.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, purchasing documentation and ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365) data.
  • Support stock investigations, purchasing administration and KPI reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and provide general support to the wider Purchasing team.

About the successful Purchasing Assistant

  • Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, logistics, supply chain or a similar administrative role.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, with experience using an ERP system (Dynamics 365 would be advantageous).
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
