Our client, a well-established and highly respected builders' merchant based in Bourton-on-the-Water, has an exciting opportunity for a Counterbalance Forklift Operator / Yard Assistant to join their small team on a full-time, permanent basis due to continued business growth.
The successful Counterbalance Forklift Operator / Yard Assistant should have:
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A Counterbalance Forklift Licence (desirable but not essential. Evidence of existing licence will need to be shown if held already. Training can be given)
- Previous experience within a warehouse, yard, builders' merchant or construction environment would be advantageous
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
In this role, the Counterbalance Forklift Operator / Yard Assistant will be responsible for:
- Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles safely and efficiently
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
- Picking and preparing customer orders for collection and delivery
- Assisting customers within the yard and providing excellent service
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Handling stock and building materials safely
- Supporting the wider team with general yard and warehouse duties
- Carrying out daily forklift safety and equipment checks before operation
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 4:30pm
- Alternate Saturdays: 7:30am to 11:30am
