Our client, a well-established organisation within the hospitality, leisure and events sector, based in Cheltenham, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis as part of their growing Food & Beverage operation.
Working across a variety of unique venues, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef who enjoys variety and wants to be part of an operation delivering everything from busy cafés and visitor dining through to weddings, banquets and large-scale events for up to 400 guests.
The successful Sous Chef should have:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie looking to progress
- Excellent cooking skills with a genuine passion for producing high-quality food
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management, ideally with Level 2 Food Safety
- Experience of stock control, food costing and reducing waste
- The ability to lead, motivate and support the development of a busy kitchen team
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across different venues
In this role, the Sous Chef will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen operation
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team while maintaining consistently high standards
- Assisting with menu development and delivering high-quality food across cafés, functions and large-scale events
- Managing stock, food costs and waste to support an efficient and commercially focused kitchen
- Ensuring excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen standards are always maintained
Our client is offering the successful Sous Chef a salary in the region of £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus 28 days' holiday per year inclusive of Bank Holidays and subsidised gym membership for just £10 per year.
The role is based on 40 hours per week over a 5-day working week, on a rolling rota which includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. A six-month probationary period applies.
