We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Officer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Kidderminster. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional with strong generalist experience to join a busy and fast-paced environment, supporting all aspects of HR and payroll across the business. We are looking for someone proactive, ambitious, and highly hands-on, who enjoys being fully involved in the day-to-day operation and wants to make a genuine impact across the business.
The Role
Reporting into senior HR management, the HR Officer will be responsible for delivering a full generalist HR service across the site, supporting both managers and employees on all people-related matters. Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring HR policies and procedures remain compliant with current employment legislation
- Supporting the HR Manager with HR projects and process updates
- Supporting the HR Manager with employee relations casework including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, investigations and performance issues
- Supporting recruitment activity including advertising, interviewing, onboarding and inductions
- Supporting the full employee lifecycle including starters, leavers, contracts and policy updates
- Supporting absence management and return to work processes
- Providing day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees
- Assisting with training and development planning across the business
- Maintaining accurate HR records and employee data
- Supporting payroll processing including timesheets, overtime, holiday, sickness, starters, leavers and payroll queries
About You
We are looking for an experienced HR generalist who has ideally worked within a manufacturing or similar fast-paced operational environment. The successful candidate will be:
- Proactive, ambitious and eager to get involved
- Highly hands-on with a practical approach
- Approachable, pragmatic and solutions-focused
- Comfortable working at pace and managing multiple conflicting priorities
- Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy
- Confident building relationships across all levels of the business
You will also have:
- Previous experience in a generalist HR Officer role ideally with the manufacturing sphere
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law
- Strong employee relations experience
- Experience supporting payroll processes
- Competent recruitment experience
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- CIPD Level 5 (desirable)
