Your Role
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join Re-Leased on a fixed-term contract basis, covering a period of planned leave. In this senior role, you will be at the heart of our financial operations - reporting directly to the CFO and taking full ownership of the finance and accounting function. From financial planning and analysis to budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, you will ensure Re-Leased operates with financial rigour and compliance at every level. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to step into a high-impact leadership role and make their mark during a key period for the business.
Your Responsibilities
- Own the month-end close process and produce the monthly management reporting pack, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements across all entities.
- Lead statutory accounts preparation and manage external audits across NZ, Australia, UK, USA, and Canada.
- Oversee AP/AR operations and treasury, including cash management and the 15-month rolling cash flow forecast.
- Assist the CFO in preparing board and investor reporting materials, maintaining the financial data book as the single source of truth.
- Support bank covenant reporting and financing-related KPI delivery to investors.
- Own actuals vs budget variance analysis, providing timely and actionable insights to senior management to support informed decision-making.
- Validate and reconcile reforecast outputs from the Director of FP&A against actuals.
- Oversee tax compliance and transfer pricing across all jurisdictions, managing Re-Leased's evolving multi-entity billing structure.
- Maintain and continuously strengthen the internal controls environment, ensuring it scales with the business.
- Drive cost analysis and efficiency improvements, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce operating costs.
- Lead, develop, and support a team of 3-4 finance professionals, fostering a high-performance, high-trust culture with structured mentorship.
- Build AI capability into the team culture, leveraging technology and innovation to scale the finance function while remaining lean.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and marketing to align financial goals with broader business objectives.
- Identify and implement process optimisation opportunities across financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
Your Experience
- Proven experience in a senior finance role within a SaaS or technology business, ideally at a comparable growth stage ($30M-$100M ARR).
- Big 4 experience would be helpful, but not a pre-requisite.
- Strong technical accounting background with hands-on experience across statutory reporting, audit, and multi-entity consolidations.
- Demonstrated experience owning or significantly contributing to board and investor reporting.
- Exposure to multi-jurisdictional finance operations, ideally including at least two of NZ, AU, UK, US, or Canada.
- Experience managing or mentoring a finance team.
- Commercially curious in that you want to understand the business, not just the books.
Our culture
- People First: One team globally; our people and customers always come first.
- Find a Way: Like a river, we find a way around all obstacles.
- Win or Learn: Our journey for improvement never ends; enjoy the ride!
- Aim High: We dare to set big goals and love the challenge of achieving them against the odds.
Why you will love working here!
- Including comprehensive health insurance, access to a premium EAP service and an annual wellness allowance to spend on what helps you feel good - whether that is towards a gym membership, new running shoes, or mindfulness apps.
- Generous paid parental leave and flexible, family-friendly support designed to help growing families balance work and life with confidence.
- We celebrate time, commitment, and contribution with milestone rewards and additional leave as you grow your career with us.
- With customers and teammates across New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and North America, we work in a hybrid, remote-friendly way with collaborative offices and the flexibility of a balanced approach to WFH/in-office work.
