Our client, a well-established quality pub with rooms within the hospitality industry, based in the Stroud area, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a quality hospitality operation, leading from the front to deliver excellent customer experiences, develop a strong team and drive the commercial success of the business.

The successful General Manager should have:

  • Previous management experience within a quality pub, restaurant, hotel or food-led hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and retain a great team
  • Good commercial awareness with experience of managing budgets, labour, stock, margins and profitability
  • Rosette experience would be good, although not necessarily a requirement.
  • A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of the day-to-day operation
  • WSET Qualifications & Wine experience are advantageous.

In this role, the General Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading and inspiring the hospitality team to deliver consistently high levels of service
  • Managing the day-to-day operation across the pub, restaurant and accommodation
  • Driving sales, controlling costs and maximising the profitability of the business
  • Recruiting, coaching and developing the team while maintaining excellent operational standards
  • Working closely with the kitchen and wider management team to identify opportunities for growth
  • Building strong relationships with customers and becoming a visible part of the local community
