Our client, a well-established and highly respected builders' merchant based in Bourton-on-the-Water, has an exciting opportunity for a Counterbalance Forklift Operator / Yard Assistant to join their small team on a full-time, permanent basis due to continued business growth.

The successful Counterbalance Forklift Operator / Yard Assistant should have:

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • A Counterbalance Forklift Licence (desirable but not essential. Evidence of existing licence will need to be shown if held already. Training can be given)
  • Previous experience within a warehouse, yard, builders' merchant or construction environment would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures

In this role, the Counterbalance Forklift Operator / Yard Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
  • Picking and preparing customer orders for collection and delivery
  • Assisting customers within the yard and providing excellent service
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Handling stock and building materials safely
  • Supporting the wider team with general yard and warehouse duties
  • Carrying out daily forklift safety and equipment checks before operation

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 4:30pm
  • Alternate Saturdays: 7:30am to 11:30am
