We are recruiting a Commissioning Officer to support commissioning managers, lead commissioners, and outcome managers in delivering effective, value-for-money services across council outcome areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support commissioning and procurement activities to meet customer and service needs
- Assist with market research, analysis, and evidence gathering to inform decisions
- Support stakeholder and customer engagement activities
- Undertake contract monitoring with providers
- Draft specifications in line with commissioning and procurement guidance
- Contribute to project work, reporting, risk assessment, and performance monitoring
The role will also involve leading lower-risk commissioning exercises and supporting more complex or higher-risk projects.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working in a commissioning environment (public sector preferred)
- Experience supporting procurement, commissioning, or contract management activity
- Strong analytical, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Understanding of public sector policy, legislation, and partnership working
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
