Our client, a well-established care home provider within the healthcare and care home sector, based in Cheltenham, has an exciting new opportunity for a Second Chef to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis due to continued growth and increasing resident demand.
The successful Second Chef should have:
- Previous experience working within a commercial kitchen environment
- Experience of, or a good understanding of, care home dietary requirements and nutritional needs
- A current DBS or willingness to undertake one
- A City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent professional catering qualification
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance standards
- The ability to work collaboratively whilst supporting and leading a small kitchen team
In this role, the Second Chef will be responsible for:
- Preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for residents
- Working closely with the Head Chef to deliver restaurant-quality food and dining experiences
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the kitchen and assisting with team supervision
- Ensuring all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are maintained
- Working a flexible rota, including alternate weekends, whilst maintaining excellent service standards
Our client is offering the successful Second Chef a salary in the region of £28,000 - £34,540 per annum, plus benefits including:
