Salary: £14.54 per hour (overtime available after 40 hours)
Hours: 37.5 per week, 5-day rotating schedule (Monday–Sunday)
Shift Times: Weekdays rotate between 05:30, 06:00, 07:00 & 12:00; Saturday at 08:00, Sunday at 06:00
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician to join a busy Technical Department within a leading food production environment. This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a passion for accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. You will play a vital role in maintaining product quality and food safety standards, while supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sampling and microbiological testing of products to maintain quality control.
- Accurately analyse, record, and report results, highlighting any irregularities.
- Maintain clean and organised laboratory areas in line with COSHH, Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in product quality and hygiene practices.
Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards
- GCSEs (Grade B or above) in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, or equivalent qualification in Biological Sciences
Desirable:
- Previous laboratory or food production experience
- Understanding of microbiology, food hygiene, or quality control procedures
