Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for your next opportunity within a busy manufacturing and engineering environment?
We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical assembly and fitting skills who is confident reading engineering drawings and working as part of a collaborative production team.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly and fitting of pump systems, including electric and diesel pump skid sets, working from engineering drawings and bills of materials.
Your responsibilities will include:
Building bare shaft pumps from engineering drawings
Assembling electric and diesel pump skid sets
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and bills of materials
Completing production check sheets and documentation
Identifying and reporting assembly and quality issues
Working closely with Engineering, QA, Planning and other departments to resolve build issues
Communicating build progress and any issues to supervisors and managers
Preparing completed pumps for testing
Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping
Supporting and guiding less experienced members of the team where required
About You
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter with:
Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, relevant experience; or significant mechanical fitting/assembly experience
Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong mechanical fitting and assembly skills
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
A logical and structured approach to work
A positive, "can-do" attitude
Good communication and teamwork skills
A strong commitment to health and safety
