We are working with a distinctive and ambitious restaurant set within a beautiful countryside environment. With a fascinating family heritage, the business has a strong connection to the local area and a real appreciation for quality. That heritage has now evolved into a modern hospitality business combining excellent food, great drinks, a relaxed atmosphere and high standards of service.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team and help deliver an outstanding experience for every guest. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team and creating the kind of service that keeps customers coming back.

The Role

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will help oversee the daily operation of the bar and grill, ensuring consistently high standards across service, guest experience and team performance. You will be a visible and enthusiastic leader, supporting the team through busy services and helping to create a welcoming, energetic and professional atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant
  • Take responsibility for the operation in the Manager's absence
  • Lead by example during busy services
  • Motivate, coach and develop the front of house team
  • Deliver a high standard of friendly, professional service
  • Ensure guests receive a memorable experience from arrival to departure
  • Run pre-service briefings and maintain excellent communication
  • Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service
  • Deal confidently with guest queries and feedback
  • Support private dining, events and larger bookings
  • Assist with rotas, stock control and other operational duties
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance
  • Help develop and maintain strong service standards as the business grows

About You

We are looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm for hospitality who enjoys working in a busy, quality-led environment. You could currently be an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, Senior Supervisor or experienced Chef de Rang looking to take the next step. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a quality restaurant, bar & grill, hotel or similar environment
  • Strong front of house and restaurant service experience
  • The confidence to lead a team during busy periods
  • A genuine passion for food, drink and hospitality
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A positive, energetic and hands-on management style
  • Good attention to detail and high standards
  • The ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
  • A team-focused approach and willingness to get stuck in

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join a business with a strong identity, an interesting heritage and ambitious plans for the future. The restaurant has a premium feel but is designed to be welcoming, relaxed and enjoyable somewhere guests can come for a great meal, drinks with friends, a special occasion or simply a good night out. For the right person, there is plenty of scope to develop their career as the business continues to grow. Due to the rural location, access to your own transport is recommended.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
