Role Description


As a Laptop Repair Technician at Re-com, you will work full time on-site in Chadderton, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of laptop hardware and software issues. Your daily tasks will include troubleshooting faults, performing component-level repairs, replacing parts such as screens, keyboards, batteries, and storage drives, and ensuring all devices are tested and fully functional before return. You will be responsible for routine equipment maintenance, firmware and driver updates, and basic operating system installs or configuration as required. The role also involves documenting work performed, updating tickets or service records, and communicating clearly with internal teams and channel partners about repair status and timelines. You will contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction by providing reliable repairs, meeting agreed turnaround times, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace.



Qualifications



  • Strong technical repair skills and Troubleshooting for laptops and related IT hardware.

  • Customer-focused mindset with a proven commitment to Customer Satisfaction and clear, professional Communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Hands‑on experience with laptop disassembly, component replacement, and basic diagnostics tools.

  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems (and ideally macOS or ChromeOS).

  • Ability to follow repair procedures, interpret technical documentation, and maintain accurate service records and inventory logs.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple repairs while meeting service‑level timelines.

  • Ability to work safely on‑site in a workshop environment, including adherence to ESD, health, and safety standards.
