RDT is looking for a skilled UX Designer to join our Product Management team and help shape intuitive, accessible, and consistent user experiences across our B2B insurance platforms. This is a role for someone who takes UX craft seriously — and who is excited about how AI tools can help them work faster, explore more ideas, and iterate with greater confidence.
Working alongside our Lead UX Designer, you will shape user journeys, interface designs, and design system components across our core insurance products. You’ll contribute to discovery, translate complex workflows into clear digital experiences, and refine designs through testing and iteration — using AI‑assisted tooling where it genuinely accelerates the process. This is a hands‑on role for someone who cares about the details — UI design, prototyping, accessibility, and design system rigour — while also being curious about how the design practice is evolving. You will work across product and engineering teams, maintain design quality and consistency, and help mature RDT’s design system in a regulated enterprise environment where good UX judgement still matters most.
Key Responsibilities
- UX & Product Design
- Produce user journeys, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high‑fidelity UI designs in Figma, using AI-assisted tools to accelerate exploration and idea generation where appropriate.
- Translate complex insurance workflows into clear, usable digital interfaces — applying strong UX judgement to find the right solution, not just the fastest one.
- Contribute to RDT’s design system by creating, refining, and documenting reusable components and design patterns.
- Ensure accessibility best practices (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA) are followed across all designs.
- Support discovery activities including user interviews, usability testing, synthesis, and journey mapping; use AI tools to help structure and summarise research findings where useful.
- Work closely with engineers to validate feasibility and support accurate implementation — including sharing AI‑generated UI concepts as a starting point for collaborative refinement.
- Use behavioural and analytics data to inform iterative improvements, and explore how AI tools can support faster design cycles without compromising quality or usability.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, analysts, and testers throughout the Agile lifecycle.
- Participate in workshops, critiques, and collaborative design activities.
- Clearly present design rationale to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Maintain clean, consistent, and well‑structured design files and documentation.
- Uphold and strengthen a user‑centred mindset across teams.
Technical Skills & Requirements
- Essential Skills
- Proficiency with Figma; comfortable adopting new design and AI tools as workflows evolve.
- Strong visual design capability and attention to detail.
- Ability to move fluidly between discovery and delivery — translating requirements into well‑considered design outputs at the right level of fidelity.
- Confident collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
- Pragmatic and delivery‑focused, able to balance user needs with technical and business constraints.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience contributing to design systems or component libraries.
- Exposure to enterprise‑grade B2B software.
- Familiarity with analytics or behavioural data.
- Hands‑on experience using AI tools to support prototyping, UI generation, or design exploration — with a clear‑eyed view of where they add value and where they don’t.
Competency Requirements
- 2–5+ years in a UX/UI or digital product design role.
- Experience designing web or SaaS products, ideally within complex or regulated environments.
- Understanding of user‑centred design, usability principles, and responsive UI.
- A portfolio demonstrating structured thinking, strong UI craft, and examples of iterative design work.
- Familiarity with accessibility requirements and design systems.
Benefits & Opportunities
This is a genuine opportunity to grow as a UX designer in a product environment where your work has real impact. You’ll work closely with an experienced Lead UX Designer, develop your UX practice across a broad range of product challenges, and help shape how RDT’s design function evolves — including how we responsibly adopt AI tools to improve the way we design and collaborate. You’ll be part of a talented, cross‑functional team in a company that takes quality seriously, and you’ll be supported to do your best work.
The Benefits:
- 25 days holiday plus Public Holidays
- Company pension
- Private health cover
- Free parking at the office
- Electric car salary sacrifice scheme
- Company social events
