RDM Engineering, are urgently seeking a highly experienced Procurement / Stock Controller to work in our busy engineering stores.

The stores is an integral part of our manufacture and installation programs and as such a very wide variety of engineering, electrical parts and materials pass through them.

We are seeking someone with purchasing and stock control experience within an engineering company and within an engineering environment.

This is an exciting opportunity with a wide scope, which we hope the candidate will make their own and bring their own skills and knowledge.

As Procurement Manager, you will ensure a constant supply of parts and materials are available for our various projects, whilst reducing potential risks within the supply chain, you will work with the Stores Team to assist with the smooth functioning of the department, with correct parts being ready for the manufacturing teams or dispatch when required.

The common thread throughout these roles is our stock control system, where you will take a lead role in its accuracy, growth and implementation. Strong IT skills are therefore essential.

There is also a requirement to be hands on with the parts and to assist with the general Stores Operations.

Responsibilities Include :

Procurement:

· Procuring goods and services from new and existing suppliers

· Negotiating best price, and terms with manufacturing partners

· Monitor supplier issues and provide alternative solutions

· Liaise and collaborate with other departments and implement solutions

· Provide ideas for process improvements

· Provide daily administration for stores including booking in, stock identification, stock counting, scanning of delivery notes etc

·Adding new parts to the stock control system

·Liaising with the engineering and manufacturing teams about min\’ / max\’ stock levels and investigations into incorrectly picked / ordered parts

Key Requirements:

· Experience of working in procurement and stores in an engineering environment

· Excellent communication skills with all levels of responsibility within the company, suppliers and customers

· Strong IT skills

· Willingness to learn how all aspects of a manufacturing business in some exciting markets operates and contribute to its smooth and efficient running

  • Fork Lift licence is preferred.

The actual level of pay will be based not only on your experience but will reflect the input that you make to the Company.
