We are looking for a highly skilled Gas Engineer with a strong commercial plumbing background to oversee the heating and gas infrastructure across a major MoD estate in South Wales. This is a dual-purpose role requiring the ability to pivot between high-capacity commercial boiler rooms and domestic heating systems within site housing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gas Safety: Carrying out annual Landlord Gas Safety Records (LGSRs) and commercial gas safety inspections across the estate.
  • Heating Systems: Installing, servicing, and repairing commercial atmospheric boilers, condensing boilers, and domestic central heating systems.
  • Plant Room Maintenance: Managing and maintaining commercial plant, including pumps, valves, and pressurisation units.
  • Reactive Repairs: Responding to heating breakdowns and gas leaks as a priority, ensuring minimal disruption to site operations.
  • General Plumbing: Supporting the wider maintenance team with complex plumbing installations and repairs when gas works are not at the forefront.
  • On Call Rota: Carrying out weekly on call duties on a Rota basis.

Requirements

  • Core Qualifications: Valid Gas Safe Registration is mandatory.
  • Domestic Tickets: CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1.
  • Commercial Tickets: COCN1 (or CODNCO1), CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1.
  • Plumbing Background: NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent time-served experience.
  • Security: Ability to pass BPSS / SC Level security vetting is essential for access to sensitive areas of the estate.
  • Drivers Licence: Full UK driving licence.
