Our Senior Healthcare Support Workers form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings; out in the community, in our acute hospitals or within our theatres teams to name just a few. You will be a valued member of the team through our comprehensive training and induction programme and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person.
We are looking for a Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our team at the South Devon Satellite Kidney Unit – a nurse-led outpatient dialysis unit on the outskirts of Torquay, providing haemodialysis 6 days a week from 07:30-23:00hrs. Applicants are required to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and high standards of clinical practice. You will be required to work collaboratively with dialysis unit staff and the wider renal multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan and implement haemodialysis treatment under the supervision of the registered nurses. Renal experience is not necessary as full haemodialysis training will be provided, with new staff being supported by a dedicated Clinical Practice Facilitator. Ongoing development is encouraged, with a variety of learning opportunities available throughout the renal service as well as the opportunity to take on link nurse responsibilities. Our teams are caring, compassionate and inclusive, so whatever your background, you will be made to feel very welcome.
Working Pattern: We care for our patients around the clock so we will need you to work a range of shift patterns. The post holder will be required to work both early (07:30-18:30) and late (12:00-23:00) shifts Monday-Saturday. We are closed on Sundays, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, with no overnight working required. Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
