Honiton Minor Injury Unit (MIU) is a friendly nurse/paramedic led service, offering minor injury and illness urgent care to over 12,000 patients a year delivering work in a fast-paced busy environment. Practitioners provide assessments, diagnosis and treatment to patients presenting. Working closely with the Emergency Department team, as well as the other community urgent care services.

The post-holder will be a fully qualified Practitioner in Minor Injuries/Illness or Emergency Care, working autonomously at Honiton MIU as their base, as well as occasional shifts at our other urgent care facilities locally.

The successful candidate will work as an autonomous, independent Practitioner to provide a holistic approach to individuals including: assessment, diagnosis, treatment and safe discharge and referral to other agencies if necessary, of minor illness and injuries.

The post-holder is responsible for their own workload within the designated clinical area; for the assessment and treatment of patients on a day to day basis; and to deputise for and support the clinical manager in their absence.

Honiton MIU is open from 8am-8pm, 7 days a week, 364 days a year, and sees over 12,000 patients a year. The small team is supportive and friendly.

Working Pattern: Shifts are typically 08:00-20:30. No nights, weekends.
