Our Senior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSWs) form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings; out in the community, in our acute hospitals or within our theatres teams to name just a few. You will be a valued member of the team through our comprehensive training and induction programme and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person. We currently have vacancies in the WEB area - Woodbury, Exmouth & Budleigh. These are permanent posts. Full time and part time applications are welcomed.
Within Urgent Community Response, you will be travelling across a wide geographical area, primarily linked to an Exmouth Hospital base. You must demonstrate willingness and flexibility to work across multiple sites/localities as the need arises. It is essential that you have a kind and caring nature, are patient and able to offer a friendly smile. You must feel comfortable working on your own supported by a team of professional colleagues. Duties will include provision of personal care, clinical duties where delegated, monitoring the patient’s condition and working with health and social care professionals to ensure that patients are safe and well at home. You will need great interpersonal and communication skills and be able to connect with individuals with varying levels of understanding.
Successful candidates will have NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification/experience, and ideally have experience of working with older people in a community setting. You will also need to be competent with IT as electronic recording is an essential part of the role. You will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme including support to complete the National Care Certificate. You must have a full UK driver's licence with access to your own vehicle (with appropriate business insurance) as you will be travelling to patient's homes to care for them.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. Please note that under current legislation, this role is not eligible for sponsorship and therefore, if you do not already have the right to work in the UK, the Trust cannot offer any support.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. The service operates on a 7-day rota system between 0730-2200, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
This is a fixed term contract until 05/01/2027. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity. This is an internal vacancy for Royal Devon employees.
