To lead an effective clinical pharmacy service to the Adult & Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) service and Respiratory Medicine speciality, including Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD). To contribute to the development of medicines management and optimisation throughout the patient care pathway. To participate in the wider pharmacy service and its development in response to patient care needs. To support prescribing, horizon scanning and financial management of medicines expenditure.

This post provides a unique opportunity to join the pharmacy team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and provide pharmaceutical care for patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD), cystic fibrosis and acute respiratory patients. The post holder will be embedded into the ILD multidisciplinary team promoting the safe and effective use of medicines across the division as well as ensuring the cost-effective use of resources. They will run outpatient clinics engaging with new and current ILD patients, managing their medication and troubleshooting complex medication queries. The postholder will need to be a confident individual and independent prescriber.

As a key member of the Trust, you’ll be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients when they need it most. The full job description outlines the key areas of responsibility for the role and the person specification details the qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience required. We are looking for an innovative and experienced specialist pharmacist to join our team and enhance our ability to provide medicines support for respiratory patients. This is a fixed term post for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

The postholder will be a key member of the pharmacy team providing supervision and development of pharmacists and maintaining our core services. You will be an excellent communicator interacting with healthcare professionals and patients. You must be highly self-motivated, able to demonstrate leadership skills and have the ability to plan and work, both independently and as part of the wider healthcare team, to deliver excellent pharmaceutical care to our patients. Experienced clinical pharmacists at band 7 with a prescribing qualification and an interest in developing into a specialist band 8a role may be considered for this post depending on experience.

This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with Trust policy successful applicants will be required to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure Check/Enhanced Disclosure Check.
