Working within a large, busy Operating Department, you will deliver theatre-specific training, assessment, and support to Registered Nurses, Operating Department Practitioners, Senior Theatre Assistants, and Theatre Assistants, helping to maintain a skilled, competent, and confident workforce. You will also support Student Nurses, Student Operating Department Practitioners, Medical Students, work-experience placements, and other learners within the theatre environment.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with experience in theatre and a passion for teaching and supporting others. You need to be able to be flexible, approachable, and work as a role-model to all staff. With the addition of our new Hybrid Theatre, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team of Practice Educators across the Trust’s theatre departments, contributing to the development and growth of the workforce while promoting best practice and delivering excellent patient care.

The role will be split between clinical-based teaching—providing face-to-face tuition and support within individual theatres—and non-clinical time dedicated to education planning and documenting teaching activities. You will also be required to work one clinical day per week as part of the staffing numbers, supporting the department and maintaining your own clinical competencies across all specialities.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours a week, working 1 in 4 weekends.
