An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and well-organised individual to join the Bladder and Bowel Care Service as a Band 3 Administrator. The role is based in our office at Park Five Business Centre, Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter. The working pattern is Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 or 08:30 – 16:30.
Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritise own workload and support the Bladder and Bowel Adult admin team, including paediatric and assistant practitioner teams.
- Provide first-line telephone contact, book appointments using the electronic appointment system and handle clinical letters.
- Maintain the booking system to a high standard at all times.
- Act as the first point of contact for patients, health professionals and the public, directing queries efficiently and passing messages to relevant staff.
- Cover colleagues during sickness/absence and annual leave, and perform any other duties designated by the team.
- Contribute to service improvement through recommendations and participation in administration meetings.
Qualifications
- Excellent IT skills.
- Professional, methodical approach to work and ability to work as part of a team.
- Prior experience in a medical setting and familiarity with medical computer systems is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
