Chief Cardiac Physiologist in Devices, highly skilled and experienced Physiologist with IBHRE/BHRS qualification. Will perform complex device implants and clinics, including remote follow up. Assist in managing the service and training supporting band 5/6 members of the team.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. We are a busy department, providing a wide range of investigations and are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard-working physiologist to join our team. We offer a comprehensive range of invasive and non-invasive investigations.

  • Two of our three cardiac catheterisation labs perform cardiac angiography and angioplasty, with a 24-hour Primary PCI service.
  • In our third specialised lab, we implant approximately 700 pacemakers, 130 ICDs, including SICDs and CRT devices.
  • We implant approximately 200 ILRs a year out of the cath lab setting, moving forward to remote monitoring of all our device patients.
  • Our electrophysiology service performs complex studies with the use of 3D mapping and Cryo.
  • The echocardiography service includes TTE, TOE, contrast, bubble and stress studies.

We are looking for a highly specialised Cardiac Physiologist with a focus on device cardiac rhythm management to join our experienced team. The successful applicant will also be expected to take a role in other procedures. The successful candidate will have completed a BSc (Hons) in clinical physiology or equivalent. Be RCCP or AHCS registered and hold a current ILS or ALS certificate. They will have BHRS, IBHRE or EHRA accreditation with further evidence of CPD focusing on devices.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a proven record working to a high standard with excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills. You will contribute to our multidisciplinary team, working closely with our Cardiology Consultants. The department is committed to supporting the continuing professional development of our team and provides support to ensure skills are regularly updated as services develop.
