An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Blood Sciences team as a trainee BMS. The post holder will be based in Haematology and Transfusion, with a rotation in the Biochemistry Laboratory.
Applications will be considered from candidates who have completed a recognised degree programme and are looking to work towards HCPC registration. Experience in Biochemistry, Haematology & Blood Transfusion is desirable but not essential and the department will support you throughout the completion of the portfolio and subsequent registration.
Ideally, you will be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, aware of laboratory processes and systems and with a genuine desire to learn new skills and knowledge. The post is a 18 months fixed term for the duration of the training to achieve HCPC registration. There will be regular review of training progress during the 18 month contract.
As per current NHS Terms and Conditions of pay for trainees, this role will be paid under Annex 21. The salary is calculated as 70% for the first twelve months and then 75% of the top of Band 5 for the last six months.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday. This is a fixed term contract for 18 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
