R&D Partners is seeking a Test Engineer to support software testing activities within a Class I medical device environment. The successful contractor will work closely with the development and quality teams to execute testing activities, document results, and support verification of software functionality. This is a hands‑on role requiring candidates who are comfortable operating both physical systems and simulators as part of the testing process.

Responsibilities
- Execute software testing activities on machines and simulation environments.
- Perform functional and system‑level testing.
- Document test execution and outcomes.
- Record defects and issues within the agreed quality systems.
- Work with development and quality teams to investigate and resolve defects.
- Maintain traceability and test documentation in line with medical device quality standards.
- Support verification activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Skills and Requirements
- Specific medical device experience is not essential.
- The product falls within a Class I software testing environment.
- Candidates with software testing experience from regulated industries will be considered.
- Strong software testing or verification experience.
- Experience executing structured test cases and documenting results.
- Familiarity with JIRA and/or similar defect management tools.
- Experience working within regulated environments (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, automotive, defence or similar).
- Ability to work onsite in Bishop's Stortford.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
