The Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a pivotal part in delivering exceptional service to a broad and interesting portfolio of SME clients. This is a well-rounded role offering both responsibility and variety, including:
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax computations
- Managing the production of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff and reviewing their work
- Managing client queries and advising on accounting treatments, tax planning, and compliance
- Overseeing bookkeeping tasks and working across platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage, and FreeAgent
- Collaborating with partners and managers on client development and business advisory projects
- Staying up-to-date with relevant legislation and technical updates to maintain high standards of service
This is not a rigid or siloed role—you’ll be encouraged to get involved in all areas of the practice as your confidence and skills grow.
About You:
We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset and a genuine passion for practice accounting. You’ll ideally bring:
- A strong background in accountancy practice (3+ years)
- ACCA/ACA qualified, or finalist (qualified by experience also considered)
- Excellent knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax rules, and VAT
- Experience using cloud-based accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Confident client-facing communication skills
- A team-player attitude—someone who thrives in a collaborative, fun, and high-performing environment
