Are you an experienced Personal Tax Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to advance your career? Look no further! An established and growing accountancy practice based near Wokingham is looking to recruit an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated tax professional looking for a varied, hands‑on role in a friendly, supportive, professional environment.
The firm is led by three Directors and supported by a close‑knit team of eight employees across full and part‑time positions. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced individual who can take ownership of personal tax compliance work whilst also supporting the Directors on more complex advisory matters. This is primarily a full‑time office‑based role; however, a 4‑day working week would be considered for the right candidate.
The Role
This is a broad and varied position offering exposure to both compliance and advisory work. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
- Preparing and reviewing Self‑Assessment Tax Returns
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members
- Preparing and submitting Capital Gains Tax (CGT) returns
- Preparing P11D forms and related compliance work
- Assisting with tax planning projects for individuals and owner‑managed businesses
- Supporting the Tax Director with advance clearance applications and HMRC correspondence
- Advising clients on personal tax matters and identifying planning opportunities
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Ensuring compliance deadlines are met efficiently and accurately
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience within a personal tax‑focused role in practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax compliance
- Experience reviewing junior staff work
- Exposure to advisory and tax planning work
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive and client‑focused approach
- ATT, CTA, ACA, or ACCA qualification (or qualified by experience) would be advantageous
