Senior Accountant – 2 Day\’s in Office | Core Hours 11AM-2PM | £50k-£55k FTE | Flexible & Hybrid Working

The Role
You’ll manage a portfolio of SME clients, serving as their main advisor and building long‑term relationships. Your work will be impactful, timely, and trusted.
Core responsibilities
- Lead contact for client portfolio, providing excellent service
- Prepare/review FRS105 & FRS102 accounts and corporation tax returns
- Support and review junior staff output, offering constructive feedback
- Prepare VAT returns, management accounts, and forecasts
- Complete self‑assessment returns for individuals and partnerships
- Monitor scope changes and manage pricing via structured proposals
- Maintain accurate progress in practice management tools
- Respond to client emails within 48 hours (sooner for VIPs)
- Learn firm systems and suggest process improvements
- Occasional travel for team/client meetings
About You
You’re qualified (AAT / ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW) and have at least 2 years’ experience in practice. You care about doing things well and making a real impact‑for clients and colleagues alike.
You bring
- Practice experience with FRS105/FRS102 accounts and tax returns
- Knowledge of UK self‑assessment and SME tax
- Experience with VAT, bookkeeping, and management accounts
- Strong communication, including video and written formats
- Attention to detail and good time management
- Familiarity with Xero or willingness to learn
- A collaborative mindset and comfort asking for support
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and growth

- Salary: £50k-£55k FTE (pro‑rata for 25-30 hrs/week)
- Hours: 25-30 hrs/week. Paid extra hours or TOIL
