A well-established, market-leading international consumer brand recognised for its innovation, premium products, and strong presence across both retail and e-commerce channels is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. With a long-standing reputation in the UK and continued growth, the business offers a dynamic and collaborative working environment. This position will take ownership of the Accounts Payable function, leading a small team while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You will play a key role in maintaining strong supplier relationships through timely and accurate payments, while also supporting process improvements and efficiencies across the function. Acting as a central point of contact, you will liaise with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Accounts Payable function, including day-to-day oversight of the team and workload prioritisation
- Oversee high-volume invoice processing, ensuring correct coding, VAT treatment, and appropriate authorisation
- Manage payment runs and ad hoc payments, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Monitor payment schedules and optimise timings in line with working capital and DPO targets
- Reconcile supplier statements, resolve discrepancies, and manage accruals and prepayments
- Act as the primary contact for supplier queries and maintain strong working relationships
- Support month-end and year-end processes, including AP ageing and reporting
- Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is auditâready
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Oversee employee expenses processing and reconciliation
- Collaborate closely with the wider finance team, including management accountants
About You
- Proven experience within Accounts Payable, ideally in a senior or supervisory capacity
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a team
- Strong understanding of end-to-end AP processes, controls, and reconciliations
- Experience using accounting/ERP systems such as D365, Basware, or Kofax
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fastâpaced environment
- Proactive, selfâmotivated, and a strong team player
