RD Financial Recruitment is working with a well-established global organisation to recruit a Credit Manager to join its Wholesale team.
This is a senior role with responsibility for credit, risk and underwriting, alongside the management and development of a team
The role
- Manage, develop and support a team of credit professionals.
- Review and underwrite B2B credit proposals, including dealer financial performance and funding requirements.
- Make credit decisions within your delegated authority and provide recommendations on larger exposures.
- Own month-end reporting and prepare information for committee and risk meetings.
- Build strong relationships with dealers and senior stakeholders.
- Analyse new dealer applications, business plans and funding requirements.
- Manage credit risk where dealers become distressed, including site visits, stock recovery and debt reconciliation.
- Ensure robust governance, controls and regulatory compliance across the department.
- Work with banks, solicitors and other creditors where security is required.
- Deputise for the Wholesale Department Manager when required.
About you
- Significant experience underwriting B2B credit proposals.
- Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
- Previous experience managing and developing a team.
- The confidence to make informed lending decisions within a risk framework.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, particularly with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent commercial judgement and attention to detail.
- Experience within automotive finance, dealerships or the wider motor industry would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
