A great opportunity has arisen with a leading global credit investor managing over $50 billion AUM to join their established London team in a pivotal asset management capacity. This VP-level role is specifically designed for a professional who thrives on managing complex, existing portfolios and driving value post-closing - it's a portfolio management rather than an origination seat. You will oversee a diverse and sophisticated book of ABF / Specialty Finance transactions, spanning consumer and SME loan securitisation, auto finance across Europe.

A core aspect of this position is the ongoing negotiation of amendments, extensions, and structural updates for a wide variety of intricate credit investments. You will be involved in:

  • Leading the portfolio management of a diverse range of Structured Finance and Specialty Finance deals, including senior stretch, mezzanine, forward flows, and portfolio purchases.
  • Negotiating complex transaction documentation, structural updates, and amendments post-closing to ensure optimal asset performance.
  • Executing facility upsizes, maturity extensions, and regular reviews of borrowing base and covenant compliance.
  • Preparing and presenting highly detailed Investment Committee memoranda, financial modelling, and comprehensive operational, legal, and tax due diligence findings directly to the Investment Committee.
  • Drafting legal transaction documentation in close collaboration with internal and external counsel, while preparing reporting materials for LP advisory committees.

You will have:

  • Strong, dedicated experience in asset-based credit analysis with a proven track record in ABS portfolio management, securitisation banking, or ABF.
  • A background developed within a top-tier investment bank, leading credit rating agency, or alternative credit investor.
  • Deep technical understanding of capital structures, corporate balance sheets, and the ability to thoroughly analyse specialty finance companies and their underlying assets.
  • Highly confident negotiating skills coupled with exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including sound financial modelling skills and a meticulous approach to monitoring risk.

This is a hands-on VP level hire, so typically you may have in the region of 5-12 years relevant experience.
